One more thing while we’re being honest: Slovenia is not Slovakia.

Every generic Slovenia itinerary spends three days circling Lake Bled and calls it a trip. That’s a mistake: Bled is genuinely swamped by mid-morning, and Lake Bohinj, thirty minutes further into Triglav National Park, is quieter, better for actually swimming, and draws a fraction of the tour buses. This version keeps Bled’s postcard morning and spends day three at Bohinj instead of a second rushed lap of Bled. And yes, still: Slovenia is not Slovakia, different country, different capital (Ljubljana), on the euro since 2007.

Four days is exactly enough to add the Soca Valley to the Ljubljana-Bled-Bohinj run, on one condition: day four is entirely a driving-and-scenery day over the Vrsic Pass, not a driving day with a rafting trip squeezed on top.
