Ljubljana Attractions: Card, Castle, Cave
Ljubljana Card Maths and Attraction Tickets
Whether a city card saves money comes down to arithmetic, and Ljubljana’s is easy to check. The card costs €41, €49 or €54 for an adult over 24, 48 or 72 hours, and €26, €31 or €35 for children aged 6 to 14.
What the card includes
According to Visit Ljubljana , the card covers castle entry, a river cruise, a guided city tour, unlimited LPP bus rides, the National Gallery and the Chocolarium, among more than 30 attractions. Each attraction can be visited once. Check the card page before you count on the funicular, since the inclusions are listed there.
Does it pay off?
Bought separately, castle entry without the funicular is €13.50 online, a wooden-boat cruise is around €16 and the National Gallery is €10. That is roughly €39 for three visits, and the card adds the guided tour, buses and Chocolarium on top. The verdict: a 24-hour card pays off if you plan the castle, a cruise and a museum in one day. If you only want the castle and a stroll, buy tickets individually.

Postojna: the big ticket
Postojna Cave Park is 46 km from Ljubljana. The cave visit alone is €34.90 in peak season, the Two Adventures combination with Predjama Castle is €49.90 to €58.90, and the 100% Cave Experience runs €44.40 to €60.50. The cave stays around 10°C all year, so bring a jacket even in August. The official Postojna Cave site shows current options, and Postojna tours on GetYourGuide are an option if you would rather not drive.
Tip
If you buy a card, start on day one with the guided city tour, because it points you to the sights you will want to return to. The day trips page covers Postojna and other excursions.
