Parks With Several Attractions

Monteverde’s commercial parks sell separate tickets for each attraction and bundle them into packs. Prices below are posted rates in US dollars and change, so check the operator before you go.

Selvatura Park

Selvatura posts prices plus 13 percent tax and fees. Its list runs as follows:

Hanging bridges: 8 bridges from 55 to 157 m long on a 3 km trail, about 1 to 1.5 hours, open 7am to 4pm. Adults pay $49 and children 4 to 11 pay $34.30.
Canopy tour: 13 lines over 3.5 km, about 2 to 2.5 hours, $80 for adults. A Superman add-on on the last cable costs $13.50.
Sloth Habitat: $40. Twelve sloths live freely among the trees, run with the Caribbean Sloth Sanctuary, and a guide leads the 30 to 40 minute visit. Do not touch the animals.
Butterfly Garden: $25, with 30+ species.
Reptile and Amphibian Exhibition: $25.

Treetopia Park

Treetopia was Costa Rica Sky Adventures Monteverde until it became independent in January 2023. Its single tickets are the Sky Walk ($49), the Tree Tram cableway ($59), the AR Boreal challenge course ($69) and the Sky Trek zipline ($99, which includes the Tree Tram). Packages cost $99 (Scenic), $129 (Explorer), $139 (Adventure) and $149 (Full). A shuttle is $10 round trip plus tax. Operations stop in strong wind or thunderstorms. Rates are at treetopiapark.com .

Monteverde Extremo Park

Extremo is in La Cruz de Abangares, on the Guanacaste side, and sells transport from Monteverde for $10 per person. The bungee drop is 143 m (listed at about $107, ages 14 and up, 45 to 113 kg). The Longest Canopy tour covers about 4 km on 11 cables and costs about $72 (ages 6 and up). Details are at monteverdeextremo.com .

100% Aventura

Resellers describe about 9 ziplines plus 2 Superman cables, with a reported longest cable of 1,590 m, a Tarzan swing and a canopy rappel. Tour time is about 3 hours and adult prices run about $54 to $70 across resellers.

Garden and Farm Visits

Monteverde Orchid Garden: in the middle of Santa Elena, about 450 species, with a guided tour included in entry. It opens 9am to 5pm daily. See monteverdeorchidgarden.com .
Monteverde Butterfly Gardens: adults $20, students $14, youths 7 to 18 $12, children 4 to 6 $6. Guided tours run daily from 9am to 3:30pm.
Don Juan Tours: a coffee, chocolate and sugar cane tour of about 2 hours. Adult listings run $50 to $64, with starts reported around 8, 10, 1 and 3.
Cafe Monteverde Farm and Roastery: a farm tour 400 m south of the Canitas church, open daily 8am to 5pm. A farm-to-table lunch adds $15 and a hotel shuttle adds $7.
CASEM: a craft cooperative founded in 1982 by eight women, with a Santa Elena shop selling textiles, clothing, jewellery and carved items.
Monteverde Cheese Factory: the shop and ice cream counter are open. Factory tours are not part of a visit.
