Marjan is the best place for a sunset walk. Prva Vidilica, the first viewpoint, is about 10 to 15 minutes up the steps from the Varoš quarter. The observation tower at Sedlo is free and opens daily from about 08:00 to 20:00. Finish with a slow stroll back along the Riva promenade. Wear shoes with grip, since the old stone steps are polished and slippery, and bring a torch or phone light for the way down. The pine forest is a wildfire risk, and outdoor fires are illegal from 1 June to 31 October, so skip the candle picnic.
