Romantic Croatia: Rovinj, Pelješac and Hvar
Croatia’s best couple trips mix old stone towns, vineyards and sunsets over the Adriatic. This page links four of them, with prices in euros. Hours and boat times change by season, so confirm them before you plan an evening around them.
Rovinj
The old town sits on a former island, and the lanes climb to the tower of St Euphemia, about 60 m high. Entering the church is free, and the tower climb costs about EUR 3 to EUR 5, though sources differ. The church is active, so dress respectfully. A harbor stroll at dusk needs no ticket.
For dinner, La Puntulina has small terrace tables that slope toward the sea. The Gault&Millau guide rated it 15 out of 20 for 2026, and the Pellizzer family has run it since 2004. Reserve ahead and check its opening days. See the Gault&Millau listing .
Pelješac wine country
The Pelješac peninsula grows Plavac Mali on steep, sea-facing slopes. Dingač and Postup were among the first Croatian wine areas to gain protected origin status. Miloš has a tasting room built into the hillside, Korta Katarina runs a visitors’ centre with tastings and sales, and the Bura-Mrgudić winery at Potomje receives guests by arrangement. Book each visit, and arrange a driver if you plan to taste. Ston and Mali Ston add fresh oysters at a few euros each. Read the Time Out wine guide for the full list.
Hvar at sunset
Fast boats from Split reach Hvar Town in about 1 hour, with fares from roughly EUR 10 to EUR 25 one way. The Fortica fortress costs EUR 12, or EUR 15 with the combined ticket for the town’s other sites, and the evening light from the walls is the draw. Hours differ between listings, so check them. A taxi boat to the Pakleni Islands costs about EUR 10 return, according to one 2026 guide. Late-night beach programmes are uncertain, so do not plan around a party. Read the Hvar museum and fortress hours .
