At Tulamben on Bali’s northeast coast, a WWII US Army transport ship sits 30 metres offshore in 5-30 metres of water, pushed into the sea by Mount Agung’s 1963 eruption and now thick with soft coral, bumphead parrotfish and pygmy seahorses. It is one of the world’s most accessible shore dives, workable for Open Water divers and even snorkelers over the shallow stern. The verdict
