French Polynesia 2 Day Itinerary
Day 1: Exploring Tahiti and Moorea
Morning:
- Arrive at Faa’a International Airport (PPT), Papeete, Tahiti.
- Get your Visa on Arrival if you are from one of the 65 visa-exempt countries (check this list). If not, make sure to apply for a French Polynesia Visa before travel.
- Rent a car or book a shuttle service from the airport to your accommodation in Papeete.
- Spend some time exploring the local markets and the Robert Wan Pearl Museum in Papeete.
Afternoon:
- Ferry to Moorea Island (ferries operate multiple times a day).
- Visit the Belvedere Lookout for panoramic views of the island, especially the twin bays of Cook’s Bay and Opunohu Bay.
- Explore the village of Maeva for local shops and restaurants.
- Overnight stay at a hotel or guesthouse in Moorea.
Day 2: Moorea Activities & Return to Tahiti
Morning:
- Snorkeling trip to see the vibrant marine life around Moorea, including sharks and stingrays. You can also visit the Aquarium of the Sea for a similar experience.
- Visit the pineapple plantation and enjoy a traditional Polynesian lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon:
- Return to Tahiti by ferry.
- Spend the afternoon relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Tahiti, such as Plage de Toau or Plage de la Pointe Taravao.
- Explore the Arahoho Blowhole and Marae Arahurahu, ancient Polynesian temples.
- Overnight stay at a hotel in Tahiti.
Evening:
- Dine at one of Tahiti’s many excellent restaurants, such as Le Vaima or La Villa Mahana.
Transportation:
- The main mode of transportation in French Polynesia is by car or scooter, which can be rented from the airports or local rental agencies. Ferries also connect the main islands regularly.
