England 6 Day Itinerary (No Tourist Traps)
Six days adds the Cotswolds to the Windsor, Warner Bros, Bath-Stonehenge, Cambridge and Oxford core from our 5-day version. It’s a village-hopping day, not a single-destination one, there’s no one Cotswolds gateway station. Extend it with our 7-day version once Canterbury fits your trip.

Day 1: Windsor Castle
Paddington to Slough then the branch line into Windsor & Eton Central runs 22-28 minutes; direct Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside takes about 55 minutes. Book Windsor Castle entry , GBP 32 advance versus GBP 36 on the day.
Day 2: Warner Bros Studio Tour
No walk-up ticket exists for the Studio Tour , entry alone starts at GBP 58.50. Euston to Watford Junction (about 20 minutes) then the GBP 3 shuttle is the cheap route in.
Day 3: Stonehenge and Bath
Stonehenge has no train station, most car-free visitors take a combined coach tour or train to Salisbury plus a shuttle. Admission through english-heritage.org.uk runs GBP 27.20. Bath Spa is 1 hour 15 direct from Paddington.
Day 4: Cambridge
Cambridge is 45-49 minutes direct from King’s Cross. King’s College Chapel runs from GBP 16.50, plus a shared punt on the Cam for roughly GBP 12-20.
Day 5: Oxford
Oxford has no single admission ticket, individual colleges charge their own entry on term-time hours. Trains run 45-60 minutes direct from Paddington.
Day 6: The Cotswolds
Do you need a car for the Cotswolds?
Not if you book a tour. There’s no single gateway station, the practical rail entry points are Moreton-in-Marsh (about 1 hour 24 from Paddington) or Kingham (about 1 hour 20), and both need a taxi, bus, or pre-arranged transport onward into villages like Bourton-on-the-Water, Bibury or Stow-on-the-Wold. That’s why a guided minibus day tour from central London, hitting three or four villages in roughly 9.5 hours, is the default for car-free visitors. Public transport between the villages themselves is genuinely thin, so don’t plan on hopping between them independently.

Contactless cards and phones cover every London-leg fare here the same as an Oyster card. Warner Bros stays the only sight across these six days with zero walk-up option. By day six you’ve covered royal history, film production, Roman ruins, an ancient monument and two university towns, pace the Cotswolds as a lighter, scenic close rather than another ticked box, and pack layers, the countryside runs cooler than central London.
