Seville Activities: Prices and Best Times
The Alcázar sets the rhythm of a Seville trip, because its timed tickets are the first to sell out. Reserve it on alcazarsevilla.org as soon as your dates are fixed, then fit everything else around that slot.
The three big tickets
- Alcázar: about €15.50 for adults and €8 reduced. The reduced rate covers over-65s, students and European Youth Card holders of every nationality. Under-13s with an adult go free, and there is a limited free Monday slot, booked online well ahead. Hours run 09:30 to 17:00 from October to March and 09:30 to 19:00 from April to September.
- Cathedral and Giralda: €13 online or €14 at the box office, with reduced tickets at €7 and €8. A free Sunday visit runs 16:30 to 18:00 and needs an online reservation through catedraldesevilla.es . Shoulders and knees must be covered.
- Setas de Sevilla: tickets from €16 cover the mirador walkway, a short film and, from April to October, the Aurora light show after dark. Details are on setasdesevilla.com .
Plaza de España costs nothing to enter. The city has discussed a charge for non-residents, but none applies, so check the latest before you go.
A day that works
Start at the Alcázar when the doors open, then walk the few minutes to the Cathedral. Lunch falls between 13:30 and 16:00, which is a good moment to sit in the shade or step into an air-conditioned museum. Late afternoon suits Plaza de España and the Parque de María Luisa behind it. At sunset, cross the Isabel II bridge into Triana for river views, and save the evening for tapas in Santa Cruz or El Arenal, where kitchens rarely open before 20:00.
Flamenco and tapas
Flamenco has no single price. Small tablaos start around €22 to €25 with a drink, larger venues run about €38 to €45, and a show with dinner costs €55 to €90. You can compare schedules and book a flamenco show in advance for weekends. A combined Setas and flamenco ticket costs about €48.
Getting around
The old town is compact and best on foot. The airport bus (EA) costs €4 single to Santa Justa station and Prado de San Sebastián, and the weekday daytime taxi flat fare is about €25. City buses and the tram run on TUSSAM fares, and a one-day tourist card costs €5.
Heat and timing
Summer alerts above 40C are common. Plan sightseeing for 08:30 to 12:00 or after 19:30, and spend the middle of the day indoors with water close by.
Two practical warnings
Women near the Cathedral and Santa Cruz sometimes press a rosemary sprig into your hand and then demand €5 to €20. Keep your hands to yourself, say “no, gracias” and keep walking. Non-EU visitors are registered under the EU Entry/Exit System, live since 10 April 2026, and ETIAS is not yet required, so check the official EU travel site before flying.
