Romantic Seattle: Views, Glass and Ferries
Seattle has no dedicated set of commercial getaway packages, so a romantic stay here is built from a handful of experiences that suit two people. Most of them are about views, glass and water. Prices are in US dollars, exclude sales tax and shift by season, so confirm before you book.
Sunset at Kerry Park
Kerry Park at 211 W Highland Dr on Queen Anne is a free viewpoint over the skyline and the Space Needle. On clear days Mount Rainier appears behind the city. Posted opening hours differ between guides, and some say 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., so treat that as a guide and not a promise. Photographers gather near sunset, so arrive early for a spot at the rail.
Overlook Walk and the waterfront
The Overlook Walk opened on 4 October 2024 and is a free elevated park linking Pike Place Market to the Elliott Bay promenade, with an elevator and steps. On clear days it frames Elliott Bay, the Olympic Mountains and Mount Rainier. It is a good place to end a day at the market.
The Space Needle and the Loupe Lounge
The Space Needle at 400 Broad St charges roughly $35 to $55 for general admission, depending on season and time of day, with timed entry in 15-minute windows. The Loupe is a rotating glass floor, and the Loupe Lounge beside it is a walk-up bar with no reservations. The Space Needle has no sit-down restaurant, so plan dinner elsewhere. Combined tickets with Chihuly Garden and Glass are listed at $74. Read current hours on the Space Needle plan-your-visit page .
Chihuly Garden and Glass in the evening
Chihuly Garden and Glass at 305 Harrison St stays open until 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, the only late days. Adult tickets are listed at about $40 to $45. Hours are sometimes changed for private events, so look at the Chihuly plan-your-visit page before you go.
A harbor cruise for two
Argosy’s Harbor Cruise lasts one hour, leaves from Pier 55, returns to the same dock and runs daily. The sunset and happy-hour cruises finished for 2026 and return in May 2027. Dress warmly, since wind on the water is cold. Argosy’s cruise comparison lists the current options.
The Great Wheel glass cabin
The VIP glass-bottom cabin on the Seattle Great Wheel, at 1301 Alaskan Way, is private to your party. Secondary listings put it at about $50 per person, but confirm the price on the day.
A ferry to Bainbridge for dinner
Washington State Ferries leave from Colman Dock, Pier 52, and the crossing takes 35 minutes. Winslow is a short walk from the terminal on the other side, with places to eat. The adult walk-on fare is $11.35 and covers the round trip. Check the last sailing back before you sit down to dinner. Head up on deck as you leave for a view back at the skyline.
Where to stay
Rooms near the waterfront or Seattle Center keep most of these stops within a short walk or a Link ride. Compare hotels at Seattle stays .
Puget Sound water is cold all year, so keep any shoreline walk on dry ground.
