Romantic Miami: Gardens, Bay and Concerts
Miami suits couples who want gardens, water views and evenings out without much planning. The best options below are a mix of paid and free, and most work on short notice. Prices are in US dollars, so check each official page before you go.
Vizcaya gardens at golden hour
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens (3251 S Miami Ave, Coconut Grove) is James Deering’s Biscayne Bay estate. It opens daily except Tuesday, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, and is also closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Adult admission is currently $20 under a temporary restoration reduction, with the regular price at $32, and children 6 to 12 pay $10. Outside food, drink and coolers are not allowed without staff approval, so plan a meal in Coconut Grove instead of a picnic. Some Friday evening openings run in summer only. See the Vizcaya visit page .
Evening cruises on Biscayne Bay
The Biscayne National Park Institute runs an Evening Bay Cruise from Homestead for $65 from November to February. From Dinner Key Marina in Coconut Grove, the Evening Cruise is $68. Book through the Biscayne National Park Institute . For any other boat, ask for the captain’s credential before you board, since the Coast Guard regularly stops unlicensed charters on the bay.
A free outdoor concert
WALLCAST at SoundScape Park (500 17th St, Miami Beach) projects New World Symphony concerts onto the New World Center wall. It is free, and you bring your own seating. The 2026-27 listings include 21 November, 12 December and 19 December 2026. See the WALLCAST announcement and confirm dates before you go.
Dinner at South Pointe Park
South Pointe Park sits at the southern tip of Miami Beach. The steakhouse Smith & Wollensky (1 Washington Ave) is at the park, and it lists daily hours on its own site. Reserve ahead at 305-673-2800. If you eat on Ocean Drive instead, ask for prices before ordering, read the itemized check and look for an automatic service charge, so you do not tip twice on top of it.
Pools and gardens
The Venetian Pool in Coral Gables is a spring-fed pool from the 1920s, built in a coral quarry. Entry is $23 for non-residents aged 13 and up, and the pool is closed Mondays. See the City of Coral Gables page .
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden (10901 Old Cutler Rd) is open daily 10 am to 5 pm. Weekday online adult tickets are $24.95, and weekends cost more. See Fairchild’s hours and admission page .
Theater and opera
The Colony Theatre (1040 Lincoln Rd) is the home of Miami New Drama, and its 2026-27 season has been announced. The Arsht Center (1300 Biscayne Blvd) is home to Florida Grand Opera, Miami City Ballet and the New World Symphony. Check the Arsht Center resident companies page for current programs.
Planning notes
If you swim at the beach, stay near a lifeguard tower and check the flag. Green is low hazard, yellow is medium and red is high. Hurricane season runs 1 June to 30 November, so keep bookings flexible in late summer and early autumn. Low streets can flood on sunny days around the king tides, listed on the City of Miami king tide page , so avoid driving through standing water on the way to dinner.
