Romantic Estonia: Manor Spas, Mirror Cabins
Romantic travel in Estonia is a short list rather than a long menu. A handful of spa hotels, two mirror cabins, a smoke sauna farm and a few free walks in Tallinn and Pärnu make up the core of it. Hotel and spa rates change by season, so check them with the hotel. Prices that are listed here are in euro.
Spa hotels
Vihula Manor Country Club & Spa in Lahemaa is operating in 2026. The manor complex dates from the 16th century and was restored by 2012, and it has a spa and restaurants. It is a base for a quiet weekend, with Palmse, Sagadi and the Viru Bog trail within reach by car.
In Kuressaare on Saaremaa, the Georg Ots Spa Hotel (GOSPA) is open all year. It has 92 rooms, pools and saunas are included in the room rate, and the castle and marina are a short walk away. Treatment menus change, so look at the hotel’s own site before choosing a package.
In Pärnu, Hedon Spa & Hotel is built into the historic mud baths building at Ranna pst 1, which was finished in 1927. Programmes and prices are best checked directly. For a comparison of rooms across these towns, see spa hotels in Estonia on Booking.com .
Mirror cabins
ÖÖD mirror cabins, listed at stayood.com , stand at Laheranna on Ihasalu Bay (Jõelähtme parish) and at Rõuge beside Lake Suurjärv. Advance booking is required, and rates vary by season, so check the price when you book.
A smoke sauna together
The Võro smoke sauna tradition is on the UNESCO list, and Mooska farm in Haanja runs sessions by advance booking only. A session lasts at least 3 hours and takes up to 8 people, from about €350 per group. A couple should ask whether a small booking is possible. The farm tour costs €10 per person. See Mooska for details.
Free walks
In Tallinn, wandering the Old Town costs nothing, and the Kadriorg palace park is free to stroll. The Kadriorg Palace holds the Kadriorg Art Museum, with tickets of €15 and €10 for concessions. The Pirita promenade runs for about 2 km along Tallinn Bay. The Toompea viewing platforms, such as Kohtuotsa, are good at sunset. In Pärnu, the beach promenade and the Rannahotell, opened in 1937, make an easy evening walk. Baltic water is usually only comfortable in July and August.
Planning notes
- Book spa hotels and cabins ahead for weekends and summer.
- Winter brings short days and snow, and Tallinn’s Christmas market runs from 20 November 2026 to 6 January 2027.
- Winter driving needs snow tyres from 1 December to 15 March.
