Luxembourg Casemates and Cellar Tours
Luxembourg City’s best-known guided visits go underground or behind palace doors, and a few more sit in the wine country. Second-class public transport is free across the country, so reaching a tour costs nothing but the ticket itself. The LuxembourgPass covers sights, not transport, and costs from about EUR 23 for a day. All prices are in euros.
Bock Casemates
The casemates are tunnels and galleries cut into the rock below the old fortress, part of the UNESCO-listed old quarters and fortifications. Entry to the site at 10 Montee de Clausen is EUR 11 for adults, EUR 9 for students and seniors and EUR 5.50 for children 4 to 12. The city tourist office runs a 1 hour guided tour for up to 20 people at EUR 20 for adults, EUR 16 for students and seniors and EUR 10 for under 12s, with under 4s free. Autumn slots are listed at 11:30 and 14:30 daily, with an extra 16:00 on Fridays. Winter hours and slots can differ, so check the Visit Luxembourg Bock page first.
Petrusse Casemates
These tunnels start from Place de la Constitution. The guided tour lasts 1 hour and takes only 12 people, so it fills quickly. It costs EUR 24 for adults, EUR 19.50 for students and seniors 60 and over, and EUR 12 for under 12s, with under 4s free. Slots are fixed, for example 16:00 at weekends. An entry-only ticket also exists at about EUR 18, and a private guide is listed from EUR 100 for 1 to 12 people plus entry. The LuxembourgPass gives 30 per cent off. Details are on the city tourist office tour page .
Grand Ducal Palace
The palace opens to the public for guided visits only in a short summer window. The 2026 window ran from 18 July to 30 August, and dates for 2027 are still to be announced. A ticket is EUR 18 for adults and EUR 9 for children 4 to 12, and under 4s need a free ticket. The visit lasts about 75 minutes, runs in Luxembourgish, French, English and German, and starts at the tourist office on Place Guillaume II. It is lift-accessible. Outside the window you can only see the exterior. The formal changing of the guard happens about three times a year. See monarchie.lu for dates.
