Jūrmala Tours: Bog Shoes, Concert Hall, Boat
Guided Bog-Shoe Walks in Ķemeri
Bog-shoe tours take small groups onto the wet bog at Ķemeri, off the boardwalk, wearing wide frames on the feet. Purvu bridēji (purvubrideji.lv ) is one of three or more operators. Its formats and prices change, so read its listing before you plan.
- Open group, led in Latvian with English translation: about EUR 30 per adult and EUR 10 per child up to 12, in groups of 8 to 30.
- English-language group: EUR 70 per adult and EUR 30 per child, for 2 to 8 people.
- Private groups: the price per person falls as the group grows, from about EUR 35 each at 8 people to EUR 140 for one.

Transfers from Riga cost extra, and resellers that include pickup list EUR 50 or more. Stay on the boardwalk if you walk the bog without a guide.
Centre Walk from the Tourist Office
The Jūrmala tourist information centre (Lienes iela 5, Majori) is listed as the start of a Sunday walk at 12:00. It covers Majori and Dzintari, with wooden architecture, sculptures, Dzintari Forest Park and the beach, and finishes at the concert hall. It runs when at least 4 people join. The listing asks for a donation of about EUR 10 for adults and EUR 5 for children, paid in cash. The walk is seasonal, so confirm at the centre first. Private guides cost far more.
Museum Group Tours
Jūrmala Museum offers guided tours for groups of up to 15 people at EUR 20 in Latvian or EUR 33 in a foreign language. An audio guide costs EUR 4. Group bookings go by phone on +371 67761915. Entry to the municipal museums is free, so the tour fee is the only cost. Details are at jurmalasmuzejs.lv .
Dzintari Concert Hall Tour
The hall (Turaidas iela 1) runs 45-minute tours that include the Great Hall stage, the Small Hall and backstage. Prices are per group, not per person. See dzintarukoncertzale.lv for the current rates.
Bus Excursions and River Boats
Visit Jūrmala lists a guided bus tour of 6 to 8 hours that takes in the Open-Air Museum, Dzintari Forest Park and Jomas iela. It is booked at least 3 days ahead through Jūrmalatour. There is no regular hop-on-hop-off or open-top bus service, and no scheduled city coach tours.
In summer the river boat Elizabete sails from Riga to the Majori pier at about 10:00, a trip of about 2.5 hours, and also offers a short panorama trip from Majori of about 1 hour. The fare is about EUR 20. The motorboat Pērle takes private groups on the Lielupe. Times and fares are indicative, and the season runs in the warmer months.
