Guided Castle and Casino Visits in Sinaia
The main attractions in Sinaia are entered through timed visits rather than by wandering in, so a little planning decides how smooth the day goes. This page covers how each one works, what it costs in Romanian lei and where to book.
Peleș Castle
Peleș is visited on a guided or audio-guided route through the ground floor and first floor. The route takes in the Hall of Honor, the Arms Room and the Royal Library. An adult ticket is 100 lei, a pensioner pays 50 lei and a pupil or student pays 25 lei. Children up to 7 are free, and under-18s are free during school holidays. Amateur photos without flash are allowed inside. Backpacks, large bags and strollers go to the cloakroom, and you slip protective covers over your shoes to protect the old wooden floors.
Pelișor Castle
Pelișor sits just beside Peleș and is a shorter, more intimate tour of the home of Crown Prince Ferdinand and Queen Marie. The Art Nouveau rooms and the Golden Chamber are the draw. An adult pays 30 lei, a pensioner 15 lei and a pupil or student 7.50 lei.
Booking the castles
Both castles take tickets only through bilete.peles.ro or at the SelfPay stations. Each ticket is for a set time slot, it cannot be rescheduled and entry is first come within the slot, so arrive early. The last entry is at 16:00 for Peleș and 16:15 for Pelișor. Both are closed on Monday and Tuesday, and for a few weeks each year for conservation. In 2026 that means Pelișor until 3 November and Peleș from 2 November to 1 December, and the dates change from year to year.
Sinaia Casino tour
The Casino in Dimitrie Ghica Park was built in 1912 and 1913 on the initiative of King Carol I, to a design by architect Petre Antonescu in Neo-Romanian style. Gambling ended in the late 1940s and the building now works as a conference centre. You see it on a guided tour that passes through the foyer, the theatre hall, the Baccara hall and the Prince Dimitrie Ghica hall, plus exhibition rooms. The ticket office is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00, tours start hourly from 10:15 and the last is at 17:15. A joint ticket with Știrbey Castle, which houses the Sinaia city museum, costs about 99 lei for an adult and 77 lei for pensioners and students, valid for 60 days. Check casino-sinaia.ro for current times.
Enescu Memorial House
Villa Luminiș at 2 Yehudi Menuhin Street in Cumpătu is a museum to the composer George Enescu. Rooms hold his Ibach piano, documents in two attic rooms and a bust by Ion Irimescu at the entrance. It opens Wednesday to Sunday, around 09:00 to 16:00, and is closed on Monday. Details are on georgeenescu.ro.
Bușteni to Babele by cable car
A separate cable car runs from Bușteni up to Babele on the Bucegi plateau, run by a different company from the Sinaia lifts. Reported adult return fares are well over 200 lei, and wind closures are common, so check the day’s status at the station before you travel.
Where to look for tickets
Castle tickets are sold only at the official ticket site, but day tours that include Sinaia can be compared on GetYourGuide or Viator . Official hours and fees are at peles.ro , with ticketing at bilete.peles.ro and the Casino at casino-sinaia.ro .
