Group Activities in Busan
A Jagalchi seafood feast
Jagalchi Market in Jung-gu, a short walk from Nampo Station (Line 1), is built for groups: pick live seafood from the ground-floor tanks, agree a price, then carry it upstairs to one of the restaurants that will cook it to order for a per-kilo fee. Busan’s official tourism site has current market hours if you’re coordinating a large group’s schedule around it. Splitting a big spread across a table of six or eight keeps the per-person cost reasonable, and it’s a much better group experience than trying to order individually at a sit-down restaurant. Go before the early afternoon lull if you want the market itself as lively as the meal, or book a Jagalchi food tour if the group would rather have a guide navigate the stalls.
A Gwangalli craft beer crawl
Gwangalli Beach’s promenade has enough breweries and terrace bars, including Gorilla Brewing, to string together an easy walking crawl with the Gwangan Bridge lit up across the water as the backdrop. Time it for a Saturday and the free Gwangalli M Drone Light Show adds a choreographed drone display at 20:00 and 22:00 in summer (19:00 and 21:00 in winter); check gwangallimdrone.co.kr for the current schedule before you plan the night around it. Groups can walk between three or four spots without ever leaving the beachfront strip.
A shared yacht charter
The Suyeong Bay Yachting Center, near Marine City, runs sailing catamarans out into the bay for sunset or evening cruises, with the Gwangan Bridge’s LED sequence and, some nights, fireworks visible from the deck. A shared sunset sail runs roughly 25,000-35,000 KRW per person, which puts it within reach of a group booking rather than a full private charter. check sunset yacht cruises departing Suyeong Bay.
Hiking as a group: Igidae to Oryukdo
For a group that wants to move rather than sit, the Igidae Coastal Walk is a 4.7-km cliffside trail ending at the glass-floored Oryukdo Skywalk, cantilevered 35 metres above the water. It takes 2 to 2.5 hours at an easy pace, works fine for a mixed-fitness group, and needs nothing more than sturdy shoes and a reason to stop for the view every twenty minutes.
Practical notes for groups
- Book restaurant seating at Jagalchi ahead for parties over six; walk-in tables are first-come.
- A T-money or Cashbee card issued to each person (3,000-5,000 KRW, refillable at any convenience store) is faster for a group moving between metro and bus than pooling cash.
