Busan Nature Spots Worth It

Busan’s nature is coastal first, mountain second, and none of it requires a car. This is the lower-effort counterpart to our hiking guide , for days you want the scenery without the multi-hour trail.
Taejongdae
A clifftop park on the southern tip of Yeongdo Island, dense evergreen forest over dramatic sea cliffs, with a lighthouse and observatory along the way. The internal Danubi shuttle train loops the main viewpoints if you’d rather not walk the roughly 4km route.
The Igidae coastal trail
A rugged sea-cliff walking path in Nam-gu with views toward Gwangan Bridge and the Oryukdo islands. Flat, coastal, and genuinely quiet, a real contrast to the beach crowds a few metro stops away.
Geumjeongsan
The mountain that hems Busan’s north side, home to the Geumjeongsanseong fortress wall, one of Korea’s longest surviving mountain fortifications. You don’t need to hike the whole thing: the cable car from Oncheonjang Station gets you most of the way up for the view alone.
Oryukdo
A small archipelago off Nam District, its name meaning “five-six island(s)” because the closest islet splits at high tide, making the group look like five islands at low tide and six at high. The Oryukdo Skywalk, a glass viewing platform on the cliff opposite, opened in 2013.
Songdo Beach
Korea’s first public beach, opened in 1913, quieter than Haeundae with a modern marine cable car and a glass-floored Skywalk added since. A genuinely good, less-crowded alternative if the beach is the goal but the crowds aren’t.
Beomeosa’s forest approach
Beomeosa Temple , founded in 678 on the slopes of Geumjeongsan, is worth visiting for the pine-shaded approach alone, even without continuing up to the fortress wall. Over 6,500 wild wisteria plants around the temple grounds are protected as a natural monument.
