Romantic Evenings in Tashkent
Tashkent suits a couple’s weekend built around evenings: theatre, a city skyline and a mountain gondola ride. It is a modern capital, so romance here is about good evenings rather than a single famous spot. Plan around the heat in summer and bring a layer for the mountains.
An evening at the opera and ballet
The Alisher Navoi Opera and Ballet Theatre was built between 1940 and 1947 to a design by Alexey Shchusev, and an evening performance is one of the most atmospheric things to do in the city. Book through iTicket , the official ticket platform, and check the schedule before you arrive. Seat prices depend on the show.
The TV tower at dusk
The Tashkent TV Tower is 375 m tall, with its observation deck at 97 m and a restaurant above it. A visit near sunset gives wide views over the city lights. Entry runs about 40,000 to 60,000 UZS, and hours are roughly 10:00 to 20:00, so check the closing time. The restaurant costs more than the deck alone.
Amirsoy gondola at golden hour
Amirsoy resort lies about 65 km from the city. In summer the gondolas run until about 19:00, with one reaching the 2,290 m mark and a cafe at the top. In winter the resort is the main ski area, with gondola hours of about 09:00 to 17:00. Allow 1.5 to 2 hours each way by road, and check the weather first.
A walk through Amir Temur Square
The square, with the statue of Timur and the twin clock towers, is pleasant to walk in the evening. Hotel Uzbekistan, opened in 1974, faces the square and makes a good backdrop for photographs. The State Museum of the History of the Temurids reopened here in April 2026 and is worth an afternoon.
Dinner and tea
Plov at lunchtime at Besh Qozon, near the TV tower, is a local tradition, and the cauldrons are best seen at midday because the dish can sell out in the early afternoon. In the evening, a choyxona, a traditional tea house, is a good place for tea and a slow dinner.
Where not to go for romance
Mosques, tombs and the Courage Monument are places of worship or remembrance, so keep romantic photography out of them. Visit the Hazrati Imam complex and the Center of Islamic Civilization for their own sake, with covered shoulders and knees.
Practical tips
Use a ride-hailing app for evening journeys, and carry cash in UZS for small ticket desks. Summer days are hot, so book dinners after the heat fades. Search stays on Booking.com , and see the tourism portal for official event information.
