Tashkent Guided Tours and Attractions
Organised tours in Tashkent usually fall into four formats: Old City and religious heritage, Soviet modernism, a mountain day out, and a solar furnace visit near Parkent. Booking sites list many operators, so compare itineraries and inclusions rather than headline prices.
Old City and Islamic heritage tour
A guided circuit usually covers Chorsu Bazaar, Hazrati Imam Square and the Center of Islamic Civilization, which opened in March 2026 and displays the Uthman Quran. Operator packages with lunch run about USD 65 per adult on some listings. If you go independently, the Center’s foreign adult ticket is about USD 25 and includes an audio guide. Religious sites require covered shoulders and knees, and women cover their hair inside mosques.
Soviet modernism tour
Tashkent was rebuilt after the 1966 earthquake, and in July 2026 UNESCO inscribed ten of its modernist properties: the Pearl residential building, the State Museum of History, the Palace of Peoples’ Friendship, the State Museum of Arts, the State Circus, the Central Exhibition Hall of the Academy of Arts, the Alisher Navoi Cinema Palace, Chorsu Bazaar, Kosmonavtlar metro station and the Sun Heliocomplex at Parkent. Hotel Uzbekistan and the TV tower are interesting modernist-era buildings but are not on that list. Guided private prices differ by operator and are worth requesting in writing.
Full-day mountain tour
Day tours combine Amirsoy resort, Chimgan and Charvak reservoir, with transport from Tashkent. Shared formats appear on booking sites at about USD 40 to 43 per adult. The drive takes 1.5 to 2 hours each way. Amirsoy has gondolas, with one reaching 2,290 m, and the Beldersay cable car at Chimgan runs only when weather and demand allow. At Charvak, stay on the shore and swim only where locals do; no lifeguard cover is guaranteed.
Sun Heliocomplex tour
The Big Solar Furnace at Parkent, about 45 km from Tashkent, is visited on an operator tour, usually about 3 hours on site and 6 hours with travel. Private-car listings start around USD 186 per group. Some visits include a climb up a staircase to the observation deck, so wear sturdy shoes.
Food tour in Chorsu
A Chorsu tasting walk is a standard operator format. Prices vary, so ask what is included, and carry small notes for the stalls.
Metro tour
Guides also lead groups between the best metro stations. A ride costs 2,500 UZS by card or 3,000 UZS in cash, so you can do the same route alone.
Booking tips
Check that the operator is licensed, and ask whether tickets for the Center of Islamic Civilization or the museums are included. The Center sells tickets on iTicket , and the tourism portal lists official attractions. Compare tours on GetYourGuide and Viator .
