Lindos Attractions and Organised Tours
Lindos packs a lot into a small area, and the choice for most visitors is between seeing it independently and joining an organised trip from Rhodes Town. This page covers the main attractions in the village, then the tour formats that include it, with prices in euros.
Attractions in the village
Acropolis of Lindos. The headline attraction has a Doric stoa, a propylaea, the Temple of Athena Lindia and Knights’ castle walls. Restoration of the temple, stoa and propylaea has gone on since 1985, so some areas can be fenced off. Tickets are about €20 full price and €10 reduced, with timed entry. Check hhticket.gr , the Ministry of Culture portal, for current prices, slots and opening hours. Free entry applies to EU citizens under 25 and non-EU visitors under 18 with ID, and to disabled visitors with a certificate. The ancient theatre below the rock is an open-air ruin seen from behind railings.
Church of the Panagia. The bell tower dates from 1489, built under Grand Master d’Aubusson, and the interior has 18th-century frescoes. Dress modestly, and check the opening hours on the day. The Ecclesiastical Museum is attached to the church.
Folk house. A traditional mansion, the Papakonstantis house, shows a collection of dishes and costumes. It is seasonal, so ask locally before you plan around it.
Tours that include Lindos
Full-day boat from Rhodes Town. Boats leave Mandraki harbour at about 08:45 and return at about 17:30. They call at Lindos Bay, with swim stops at Anthony Quinn Bay and Tsambika Bay. Prices run about €50 to €56 through resellers.
Escorted bus tours. Operators in Rhodes Town run coach trips that leave free time in Lindos. The alternative is the public KTEL bus, which costs €5.50 one way. Compare the two: a coach tour handles transport and often a guide, while the bus leaves you free to pick your own hours on the Acropolis. Reseller bundles with a guide start at about €25 and are priced separately from the Acropolis admission, so check what the ticket includes.
Boats from St Paul’s Bay. Local operators sail from the bay beside the chapel. Gin Tonic Lindos Sailing offers a six-hour trip with four swim stops, about €70 through resellers. The Melani glass-bottom boat sails along the coast to Paul’s Bay, the Navarone cliffs and the caves.
Sea kayaking. Trekking Hellas runs a full-day Discover Lindos kayak tour from Vlycha Beach, from about €140, on Sundays from April to October. It includes a snorkel stop, lunch and a visit to the Lindos site. See the Trekking Hellas page .
Choosing
If you have one day, the full-day boat from Rhodes Town gives swimming plus time ashore. If you stay in Lindos, walk up to the Acropolis early, then take a boat from St Paul’s Bay in the afternoon. In July and August, buses and boats fill early, so book ahead. Browse Lindos tours and tickets for current options, and check ktelrodou.gr for the bus.
