Guided Tours and Tickets in St Helier
St Helier is a good base for structured visits, from guided walks over the tidal flats to coach circuits and the island’s German Occupation sites. Prices below are in Jersey pounds, which match sterling. Several of the experiences depend on the tide, so book with a guide and check times before you travel.
Seabed walks to Seymour Tower
Jersey Walk Adventures leads guided walks across the exposed seabed of the south-east reef at spring low tides. The best known is “Walk to the Edge of the Moon”, which crosses to Seymour Tower or Icho Tower, with distances and timings set by the tide. Night walks on the beach to see bioluminescence are also listed. Prices in listings run from roughly £13 to £30.50 depending on the walk, and bioluminescence walks around £22 to £25, so check the current price. These crossings are for guided groups only. The tide rises faster than an adult can run and fills the gullies behind you, so never try them on your own. See Jersey Walk Adventures for dates.
Vintage coach circuits
Jersey Bus Tours runs narrated circuits in classic open-top buses from Liberation Station, from late March to October. The West Coast circuit takes in Corbiere Lighthouse, St Brelade’s Bay and St Ouen’s Bay, and the East Coast circuit covers Mont Orgueil, Gorey and St Catherine. These are set excursions on a fixed schedule, not a hop-on hop-off loop. Adult tickets have been around £18 to £22 and child tickets £10 to £12. Bunker and military tours
Accredited guides, including Marc Yates of Jersey Military Tours and members of the Channel Islands Occupation Society, take small groups inside preserved Atlantic Wall strongpoints. Stops include the restored naval observation tower at Noirmont Point (Batterie Lothringen) and gun emplacements around St Ouen’s Bay. Details are at Jersey Military Tours and the Channel Islands Occupation Society .
Jersey War Tunnels
The Jersey War Tunnels in St Lawrence are a memorial to the people forced to build them. German forces had slave and forced labourers dig this complex, known as Ho8, into the hillside between 1941 and 1944, and it is now an exhibition about the Occupation. Treat it as a solemn historical site. Parts are dark and enclosed, with loud sound effects, so think carefully before taking young or sensitive children, who must be accompanied.
The complex opens from 21 January to 21 December 2026, from 10:00 to 17:00. Tickets cost £21.00 for adults, £20.00 for seniors aged 65 and over and for students aged 16 and over with ID, and £10.00 for children aged 7 to 15. Children aged 6 and under go free. The site is at Les Charrieres Malorey, St Lawrence, JE3 1FU, about 6 km from town. LibertyBus route 8 runs Monday to Saturday all year, and route 28 runs daily. The Jersey Heritage Pass does not include it, so buy tickets from Jersey War Tunnels .
Heritage tickets
Jersey Heritage sells a 7-day pass for £52.00 for adults, covering Elizabeth Castle, Mont Orgueil, Jersey Museum, the Maritime Museum and Tapestry Gallery, La Hougue Bie and Hamptonne, with half price on the Elizabeth Castle ferry. See Jersey Heritage for the full price list.
