Koblenz Sightseeing: Eck, Fortress, Churches
Sights in Koblenz The main sights of Koblenz stand close together between the Rhine and the Moselle, and most of the old centre can be covered in a day. The fortress and Stolzenfels need extra time and have their own tickets and seasons.
Deutsches Eck The Deutsches Eck is the headland where the Moselle meets the Rhine. The Teutonic Knights received the land in 1216. The monument to Kaiser Wilhelm I, 37 metres tall, was inaugurated on 31 August 1897 and destroyed by artillery fire in March 1945.

Romantic Koblenz: Castle, Sunset and Wine
A romantic weekend on the Rhine Koblenz is the birthplace of Rhine Romanticism, and the setting still suits a couple’s weekend: a fairytale castle upriver, river light in the evening, half-timbered wine rooms and long walks beside the water. Most of it is free or cheap, and the Old Town is compact enough to cover on foot.
Schloss Stolzenfels Karl Friedrich Schinkel rebuilt this castle between 1836 and 1842 from a medieval ruin, and it is the best-known piece of Rhine Romanticism in the area.

Four Days Around Koblenz: Rhine and Moselle
One base for four days Koblenz makes a practical base for a trip of three or four days. The Rhine, the Moselle and the Eifel volcanic hills all lie within a short train, bus or boat ride, and you can sleep in the same hotel each night. The plan below is built for the open season, roughly late March to the start of November. Burg Eltz and Geysir Andernach close for the winter, and the KD winter timetable from 19 October 2026 to 2 April 2027 has no Koblenz departures, so a winter trip needs swaps, noted at the end.

Day Trips from Koblenz: Castles and Geyser
Where to go from Koblenz Koblenz is a good base for castles, a cold-water geyser and a volcanic lake. Distances are short, but opening seasons and a long rail closure shape the plan more than the map does.
Marksburg, Braubach Marksburg stands 160 metres above the right bank of the Rhine at Braubach, about 15 km south. It is the one medieval hill castle on the Middle Rhine that was never destroyed.

Things to Do in Koblenz: Rhine and Moselle
Koblenz at the river junction Koblenz sits where the Moselle meets the Rhine, and most of what is worth doing here is within sight of one river or the other. The old centre is flat and compact, the fortress is across the water, and the wine villages and castles are a short ride away. Plan around the season, because several of the best attractions close for the winter.
