Romantic Things to Do in Cancún

Dinner on the lagoon

Columbus galleon dinner cruise. The galleon sails Nichupté Lagoon from Marina Aquatours at about Km 6.25 to 6.5. The evening runs about 2.5 hours with live music and a choice of lobster, steak or a vegetarian menu. A dock fee of about US$15 is normally charged on top. Stay seated on the ship, because crocodiles live in the lagoon.

Lorenzillo’s. This lagoon-side lobster house is at Km 10.5 in Punta Cancún. It is listed as open for lunch and dinner every day until midnight in 2026. Reserve ahead.

Sunset on the bay

A sunset sail across Bahía de Mujeres with a private charter is the classic couples outing. Ask for a licensed operator, confirm the length, and agree what drinks and the marine park wristband cost before you board. The park fee was reported at about 125 MXN in 2026.

An afternoon on Isla Mujeres

Take the Ultramar ferry from Puerto Juárez (about 580 MXN round trip for a foreign adult, 20 to 30 minutes each way). Rent a golf cart for the day at about 1,300 MXN, with a range of 1,200 to 1,600. Spend the afternoon at Playa Norte, which is usually among the cleanest beaches in the area, and end at Punta Sur for sunset. Last ferries matter, so ask the terminal for the final departure time. What does not fit

Jet skis, banana boats and deep-sea fishing are active water sports that belong in adventure outings, not a romantic itinerary. The east-facing beaches have rip currents and red flags are common, so the sunrise views at Playa Delfines are for the sand only. Dolphin swims are banned in Mexico and should not be booked.
