Cancún Evening Tours and Theme Parks

Cancún’s tour scene runs mostly after dark and around the Riviera Maya parks to the south. This page covers the shows, dinner cruises and big parks that visitors book as an outing, with the practical details that matter. Prices are in US dollars where tour sellers quote them that way and are approximate unless an official site lists them.

Evening outings

Xoxi Cancún. The former Xoximilco is a four-hour evening on boats, with a Mexican tasting dinner, an open bar, mariachi and a luchadores show. It runs Tuesday to Saturday, not Monday. Check-in is at 19:00 and the evening finishes at 23:00. The venue is on the Cancún to Puerto Morelos highway at Km 307, in the Puerto Morelos municipality, so you need transport. The minimum age is 5, and children aged 5 to 11 get 25 percent off the adult fare. Booking online 7 to 20 days ahead earns 10 percent off, and 21 days or more earns 15 percent. Cirque du Soleil JOYA. The show plays at the Vidanta resort on the Riviera Maya, in Solidaridad, about an hour from the Hotel Zone. It lasts about 80 minutes. Show-only tickets start around US$100 to 120 from resellers, and dinner packages cost much more. Confirm the performance days when you book, and plan the transfer in both directions.

Columbus galleon dinner cruise. The ship sails Nichupté Lagoon from Marina Aquatours, around Km 6.25 to 6.5. The outing takes about 2.5 hours, with a choice of lobster, steak or a vegetarian menu. A dock fee of about US$15 is usually extra. Departure times differ between sellers, so confirm yours.

Captain Hook pirate-ship dinner cruise. This one lasts about 3.5 hours and starts around 19:00. It has sword fights and a cannon show, which makes it popular with families. Boats leave from the Km 5 terminal or the Oasis Palm Beach marina at Km 4.5, depending on the seller, so check the meeting point, and budget about US$15 for a pier fee.

Theme parks south of the city

Xcaret and Xplor. Both are near Playa del Carmen. Xcaret is at Km 282 of the Chetumal to Puerto Juárez highway and is open 08:30 to 22:00 daily. The park sells several plans (Xcaret, Plus and Total). Children aged 5 to 11 are commonly about 25 percent cheaper, and under-4s are free. Current prices are on the Xcaret price guide . Skip any dolphin or marine-mammal add-on: those encounters are banned in Mexico.

Isla Mujeres catamaran day sail. Many operators run catamaran days with a snorkel stop. Ask whether the price includes the park wristband, which was reported at about 125 MXN in 2026, and whether a dock fee comes on top.

Booking tips

  • Pre-book evening tours and ask whether hotel transfers are included.
  • Whale-shark trips only run from 15 May to 17 September.
  • Marine park wristband and dock fees often sit outside the headline price.
