Travel advisory: Dubai and the wider UAE were caught up in the 2026 regional conflict with Iran. During a roughly six-week phase in early 2026, Iranian drones and missiles struck sites in the UAE, including near Dubai’s airport and port and a hotel on Palm Jumeirah. A ceasefire has held since April, and Dubai’s flights, hotels, and attractions are operating and recovering, though the situation stays fluid (the current risk is mainly to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, not the city). The US State Department has the UAE at “Reconsider Travel” and the UK FCDO does not advise against travel, but both flag the regional situation. Check the current US State Department and UK FCDO advisories before booking, and again before you fly. Everything below is written for a normal visit, for when it’s calm.
Not every kid-friendly attraction in Dubai deserves the same weight on a hot-season itinerary; some run every week of the year, and at least one shuts down for months at a time.
Runs every week: the Dolphinarium, KidZania, and The Green Planet
The Dubai Dolphinarium at Creek Park opens daily 9am-8pm except Tuesdays, with dolphin and seal shows twice daily and an exotic bird show three times a day, a reliable animal encounter that doesn’t depend on outdoor space. KidZania Dubai inside Dubai Mall runs its kids’ role-play city for ages 4-16 at roughly AED 95-155 for children, AED 75-115 for toddlers, and AED 50-75 for adult companions, with online booking typically undercutting the gate price by 10-15%. The Green Planet at City Walk, a four-storey enclosed rainforest biodome housing more than 3,000 plants and animals, runs about AED 99 for adults and AED 79 for ages 3-12.
Priced by age, not by day: the two waterparks
Atlantis Aquaventure runs roughly AED 300-350 for ages 8 and up, AED 259-300 for ages 3-7, free under 3, open daily 10am-6:30pm with last entry at 5:30pm, and free for Atlantis hotel guests. Wild Wadi, next to Burj Al Arab, runs about AED 175 to 275 online depending on the channel and the promotion, and AED 280 to 350 walking up on the day, and reopened on 18 March 2026 after a precautionary closure during the regional conflict, back to 10am-6pm daily. Shuts down for months: Dubai Safari Park
More than 2,500 animals across themed zones, genuinely closed for the summer, roughly from June through mid-October. If your trip falls in that window, don’t build a day around it; check the reopening date first.
The theme-park cluster, not one pass
Dubai Parks and Resorts (Motiongate, Legoland Dubai plus its water park, Bollywood Parks) and IMG Worlds of Adventure sell separate tickets under separate brands. Single-park entry runs roughly AED 235 (Motiongate) to AED 295 (IMG Worlds), with 2-park combos from about AED 385. Compare IMG Worlds and Motiongate tickets on Viator rather than assuming one ticket opens both gates.
Verdict: build the summer days around the Dolphinarium, KidZania, and The Green Planet, and treat the waterparks and Safari Park as cooler-season additions rather than guaranteed stops.
