Dubai 6 Day Itinerary (No Tourist Traps)

Travel advisory: Dubai and the wider UAE were caught up in the 2026 regional conflict with Iran. During a roughly six-week phase in early 2026, Iranian drones and missiles struck sites in the UAE, including near Dubai’s airport and port and a hotel on Palm Jumeirah. A ceasefire has held since April, and Dubai’s flights, hotels, and attractions are operating and recovering, though the situation stays fluid (the current risk is mainly to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, not the city). The US State Department has the UAE at “Reconsider Travel” and the UK FCDO does not advise against travel, but both flag the regional situation. Check the current US State Department and UK FCDO advisories before booking, and again before you fly. Everything below is written for a normal visit, for when it’s calm.

Day 1: Downtown Dubai

Burj Khalifa (roughly AED 149-250, verify, book ahead), The Dubai Mall, and the Dubai Fountain at dusk (free, verify current showtimes).

Day 2: Old Dubai

Morning in the Al Fahidi Historical District, then cross Dubai Creek by abra (about AED 1) to the Gold Souk and Spice Souk in Deira. The Dubai Museum, inside Al Fahidi Fort, has been closed since 2021 for restoration with no firm reopening date (Q1 2027 is the current target), so plan for the district, not the fort.

Day 3: A Desert Safari

A full evening on a desert safari (roughly AED 99-350), dune bashing, camel rides, sandboarding, and a Bedouin-camp dinner. Spend the morning resting or at your hotel pool since evenings run late.

Day 4: Palm Jumeirah

Palm Monorail to Palm Jumeirah, Aquaventure Waterpark (roughly AED 300-350, verify) or The View at The Palm, and Atlantis The Palm’s beach.

Day 5: Marina, JBR, and Bluewaters

Dubai Marina promenade and JBR Beach (The Walk) in the morning, Bluewaters Island in the afternoon. Verify Ain Dubai’s current status locally, it reopened in stages after 2026’s closures but has a history of going dark without notice.

Day 6: Expo City and the Seasonal Parks

Expo City Dubai and the Dubai Frame (around AED 42, verify) in the morning. If you’re visiting roughly between October and May, close out with Dubai Miracle Garden or Global Village; skip this slot entirely outside that window since both close for the summer.

Six days is enough to slow down between sights; the AED is pegged at 3.6725 to the dollar, so these conversions hold firm regardless of when you book, only the individual attraction prices need a live check.
