Travel advisory: Dubai and the wider UAE were caught up in the 2026 regional conflict with Iran. During a roughly six-week phase in early 2026, Iranian drones and missiles struck sites in the UAE, including near Dubai’s airport and port and a hotel on Palm Jumeirah. A ceasefire has held since April, and Dubai’s flights, hotels, and attractions are operating and recovering, though the situation stays fluid (the current risk is mainly to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, not the city). The US State Department has the UAE at “Reconsider Travel” and the UK FCDO does not advise against travel, but both flag the regional situation. Check the current US State Department and UK FCDO advisories before booking, and again before you fly. Everything below is written for a normal visit, for when it’s calm.
Four days gives Downtown, Old Dubai, the Palm, and the Marina a full day each without rushing. See the 3 day itinerary for a tighter version, the 5 day itinerary for a slower one, or the Dubai guide for the full list of things worth doing.
Day 1: Downtown Dubai
Burj Khalifa (roughly AED 149-250 for the 124/125 decks, verify, book ahead), The Dubai Mall, and the Dubai Fountain show at dusk (free, verify current showtimes). Stay Downtown for dinner and an early night before Day 2.
Day 2: Old Dubai
Morning in the Al Fahidi Historical District, wind-tower houses and small galleries, then cross Dubai Creek by abra (about AED 1) to the Gold Souk and Spice Souk in Deira. In the evening, a desert safari (roughly AED 99-350), dune bashing, camel rides, and a Bedouin-camp dinner.
Day 3: Palm Jumeirah
Take the Palm Monorail to Palm Jumeirah for Aquaventure Waterpark (roughly AED 300-350, verify) or The View at The Palm observation deck, then an afternoon at Atlantis The Palm’s beach.
Day 4: Marina, JBR, and the Dubai Frame
Morning at the Dubai Frame (around AED 42, verify), then an afternoon walking Dubai Marina and JBR Beach (The Walk). Ain Dubai on Bluewaters, if it’s running, verify its status locally since it has a history of long closures.

Four days keeps a comfortable pace even in summer heat; plan outdoor time for morning or evening from June through September and lean on air-conditioned malls and museums through the middle of the day.
