Bangkok With Kids, Old Zoo Excluded

Dusit Zoo closed for good on 30 September 2018 after about 80 years, yet it still turns up in generic “family things to do in Bangkok” lists as though it were still open. Khao Kheow Open Zoo, in Chonburi, took in some rehomed animals afterward, but it is a separate, unrelated facility, not a reopened Dusit Zoo, and should never be sold as one.
Safari World
A combined drive-through Safari Park and walk-through Marine Park on Bangkok’s northeast edge. Walking up without a ticket costs around 1,800 THB; booking the same combo online first runs roughly 1,100-1,200 THB for both parks, a real gap worth planning around rather than a stale number. A Giraffe Terrace feeding add-on, 200 THB per person, has run since January 2025. Book the Safari World combo on Viator . Safari World’s own site has current showtimes.
SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World
Inside the Siam Paragon basement, gate price runs around 1,090 THB adult, with a combo alongside Madame Tussauds-style attractions at roughly 1,200 THB, cheaper than paying for each separately. Compare SEA LIFE Bangkok tickets on GetYourGuide . SEA LIFE’s site lists any limited-run exhibit currently showing before you build a visit around it.
KidZania Bangkok
A scaled kids’ role-play city in Siam Paragon, tiered by age and by weekday versus weekend: roughly 570-1,150 THB for ages 4-14, toddlers 2-3 cheaper, under-2 free, hours Mon-Fri 10am-5pm and Sat-Sun/holidays 10:30am-8:30pm. KidZania’s site has the current tiered pricing.
Dream World needs its own day
About an hour away in Pathum Thani, a full amusement park across themed zones, open daily 10am-5pm. It is a genuinely bigger commitment than the in-city options above; plan it as a standalone day rather than squeezing it in beside KidZania or SEA LIFE.
Lumpini Park, free and reliably strange
Bangkok’s central 142-acre park costs nothing to enter, and its wild monitor lizards, several hundred of them, some over 3 meters, sun themselves near the lake in full view of anyone walking past. Free pedalo rentals and free daily 5pm outdoor aerobics classes round out a no-cost stop.
