A standard bamboo raft house on Cheow Lan, running $110 to $180, gets the same silence, the same karst view, and the same private kayak at sunrise, just with simpler furniture and a shared generator schedule instead of a private plunge pool. The setting is doing the romantic work here, not the thread count.
Verdict: skip anything marketed as “romantic” that’s actually a shared snorkeling tour with better lighting; the floating villa on Cheow Lan Lake is the one genuinely couple-specific experience in this province that doesn’t exist anywhere else in Thailand.
