A resident Rastafarian guide walks visitors through the two-room childhood home, the “Mount Zion Rock,” and the mausoleum itself, where shoes come off at the door and photography is banned inside, no exceptions. Book the Nine Mile day tour rather than driving it yourself; the mountain road is narrow, steep, and poorly signed.

Jamaica drives on the left, the A1 highway carries fast commercial traffic with no real shoulder, and the road into the Saint Ann hills has close to no signage.
