Accra Attraction Tours and Guided Visits
Organised attraction tours are the thinnest part of Accra’s visitor scene. A few Accra-based operators sell guided days, but their prices are not published, and most of the city’s sights are cheap enough to visit on your own with a ride-hailing app. This page names the operators that could be confirmed and the fixed-fee sites you can book yourself. Prices are in cedis (GH₵), at about 11.7 to the US dollar. Tour companies often quote in US dollars to overseas visitors, which is allowed for non-residents, but shops, taxis and market stalls deal in cedis only.
Operators with an Accra base
Landtours Ghana is a destination management company based in Accra. Its website lists 2026 tours under the names Black History, Artisanal Ghana and Living Heritage. No tour prices were confirmed, so ask for a written quote that states the group size, the vehicle, the entry fees and the pick-up time.
Jolinaiko Eco Tours runs guided trips in Ghana, Togo and Benin from near Accra, and its real site lists a booking fee of EUR 25. No tour price was confirmed. An operator’s own accreditation claims are worth checking with the Ghana Tourism Authority before you pay a deposit.
Sites you can book yourself
The Ghana Museums and Monuments Board sets published fees for the sites it runs. The National Museum of Ghana, at 2 Barnes Road in Adabraka, is open daily from 9:00 to 16:30 and charges non-Ghanaian adults GH₵80 (about US$7), per the board’s museum page . The Cape Coast and Elmina castles charge about GH₵80 per adult at each one, and the fee should be confirmed at the gate. They are slave-trade memorials and UNESCO World Heritage sites, and they sit about 145 km and three hours from Accra each way. Tour days that include them are long and solemn, and an overnight in Cape Coast is the better plan. The Cape Coast Castle page lists opening from 9:00 to 16:30.
Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park charges non-Ghanaian adults GH₵100 on its rates page . It is a burial memorial, and the park may revise fees at any time.
Small-group options
Global Mamas runs a free mini fair-trade tour on weekdays at its Osu store for groups of three or more, according to secondary listings, so confirm by contacting the store first. Accra Greeters offers free walks led by volunteers. Private half-day walks around Old Accra were listed at about US$80 in 2024, so treat that as a guide to the price rather than a current quote.
If you prefer to compare ready-made itineraries, Accra tours and activities shows what is on sale and what each tour includes.
Choosing a tour
Ask what the entry fees cover, because many tours add them on top. Check the departure time against the traffic, which is heaviest from about 6:30 to 10:00 and 16:30 to 20:30. A castle day starts by about 6:00. Ask whether a tour stops at a government building or security site, because photography there needs permission. Respect rules about photographing people in Ga Mashie and market areas, and ask first.
