Abu Dhabi Attraction Tours and Passes
Travel advisory: The UAE has been drawn into the 2026 conflict between the United States and Iran. Iranian missiles and drones were aimed at the country from 28 February, and debris from intercepts landed in parts of Abu Dhabi. A ceasefire in April was followed by renewed strikes across the region, which the UK FCDO dates from 8 July. At the time of writing the FCDO does not advise against travel to the UAE and the US State Department rates it Level 3, “Reconsider Travel”. Tours and museums are running, yet flights can be delayed and conditions can shift at short notice. Obey any phone alert to shelter indoors, and do not film or share strikes, interceptions or damage, as that is against the law. Check the FCDO travel advice and the US advisory before you book. The tours below are described as they run in calm conditions.
Attraction tours in Abu Dhabi mostly mean guided visits to a handful of landmarks, plus passes and buses that link them. The sights sit far apart, roughly 20 to 25 km between the Grand Mosque, Saadiyat Island and Yas Island, so plan transport between them. Amounts are in UAE dirhams (AED, about 3.67 to the US dollar).
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque guided tours
The mosque’s guided cultural tours are free, run daily, and last roughly 30 to 60 minutes in English and Arabic. They start on the east side, and the official advice is to arrive about 15 minutes early. Press reports give start times of 11am, 1pm and 5pm, with 11am and 5pm on Fridays, so confirm on the day.
Entry itself carries a fee since September 2026: AED 10 for visitors from outside the UAE, AED 8 through tour operators and AED 5 for Emirates ID holders. Press reports say children under 3 and visitors aged 60 and over enter free. You can register at the Visitor Centre or book ahead on the official site, though queues and capacity are not guaranteed for walk-ins.
Opening hours are Saturday to Thursday 9am to 8:30pm, and Friday 9am to 11:30am and 2:30pm to 8:30pm. Women need loose clothing to the ankles, sleeves to the wrists and hair fully covered, and men should cover their legs and wear nothing sleeveless or tight. The mosque no longer lends abayas, and one can be bought at Souq Al Jami next door from about AED 45. Evening “Sura” cultural tours run after closing on separate booking. See the mosque centre’s FAQ .
Qasr Al Watan palace tour and light show
Qasr Al Watan has been open to the public since March 2019. Tickets are about AED 65 for adults and about AED 30 for ages 4 to 17, and guided tours are sold separately. An audio guide comes in five languages. Dress covers knees and shoulders, with no flip-flops, and re-entry is not allowed. The evening Palace in Motion show runs on a schedule that is reported differently by different listings, so check the palace opening hours page .
Museums Pass
Valid from 1 March 2026, the Museums Pass bundles Louvre Abu Dhabi with Zayed National Museum and, in some versions, the Natural History Museum. The Louvre’s adult ticket alone is AED 70. Resellers list combinations at about AED 115 to 120, so read the pass terms on the Louvre visit page .
Hop-on hop-off bus and the Cultural Express
A hop-on hop-off bus runs two routes past the Grand Mosque, Heritage Village, the Louvre, Masdar City and Yas, with a 24-hour ticket listed at about US$81 to 84. Compare Abu Dhabi bus tour tickets . The Louvre page also lists a free Cultural Express from Dubai to the Louvre and Qasr Al Watan, leaving Sheraton Mall of the Emirates around 9am and returning about 6pm. Check the schedule first.
Falcon Hospital tour
The two-hour guided tour at the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital is listed at about AED 170 for adults. See the Falcon Hospital site for tour times and booking.
