Las Vegas 7 Day Itinerary (No Traps)
Seven days is our 6-day plan plus a genuine rest day before you fly home, not a seventh day of casino-hopping at full intensity. A full week on the Strip alone will wear you down; if the extra days are really for the Grand Canyon or a Southwest road trip, our Las Vegas USA itinerary is the version built for that.
Book these before you go:
- Your Strip hotel : check the resort-fee line before confirming
- Sphere tickets : weekday evening slots go first
- Cirque du Soleil shows : weekend seats sell out fastest
- AREA15’s Omega Mart : book a timed slot rather than walking up
| Day | Focus |
|---|---|
| 1 | Center Strip walk, Bellagio Fountains, one paid attraction, dinner |
| 2 | Downtown Fremont Street, Neon Museum, casual dinner |
| 3 | South or North Strip, second attraction, Arts District dinner |
| 4 | AREA15, Pinball Hall of Fame, dayclub afternoon, Cirque show |
| 5 | Mob Museum, off-Strip locals casino, shopping, rest |
| 6 | Nightlife or a comedy show, slower morning, revisit a favorite |
| 7 | Real rest, last-minute favorites, departure |
Day 1: Center Strip and one big thing
Check into Bellagio, Aria, or Caesars Palace and walk the free stuff first, the Conservatory, the Venetian’s Grand Canal, the Wynn’s atrium. Catch the Bellagio Fountains at dusk, free, then do one paid attraction, the Sphere (about $114-191 after fees) or the High Roller at sunset (from $28 daytime). Book any Cirque du Soleil show tonight through cirquedusoleil.com ; a full week means you have room for exactly one, not three.
Day 2: Downtown, the honest version of the city
Fremont Street Experience runs a free LED canopy show over four blocks of the actual City of Las Vegas. Pair it with the Neon Museum’s evening tour ($35, when the signs are lit), the better half of the experience.
Day 3: A second Strip zone and one more attraction
Walk South Strip or North Strip, whichever you skipped day one, and do the paid attraction you haven’t done yet, the STRAT SkyPod (about $27-28) if you’ve already covered the High Roller. Dinner in the Arts District over a third Strip splurge.
Day 4: AREA15, pinball, and a real rest
AREA15’s Omega Mart takes 90 minutes minimum ($49-59), and the Pinball Hall of Fame is pay-per-play, 25 cents to $1 a game, on the way back. Spend the afternoon at a dayclub if the budget stretches or a free hotel-guest pool if it doesn’t.
Day 5: Real history, real odds, and a slower pace
The Mob Museum, in the actual former federal courthouse, deserves a full two hours. Follow it with an off-Strip locals casino, Red Rock Resort in Summerlin or a Station Casinos property, for meaningfully better odds than the Strip. Spend the afternoon at the Forum Shops or resting.
Day 6: Nightlife, or the quieter version of it
Gamble seriously if that’s part of your trip, or hit a nightclub, Omnia at Caesars, Hakkasan at MGM Grand, XS at Encore, with covers commonly $50-100+ and bottle minimums from around $500. Sidewalk “free entry” promoters work on commission; book guest list directly instead. Prefer something calmer? Comedy clubs and magic shows like Penn & Teller run $50-100 and skip the velvet rope entirely.
Is a full week on the Strip actually a good idea? Only with a real rest day built in. Alternating hard walking-and-casino days with genuine downtime is what keeps a seven-day trip from turning into a slog by day five; a week at Strip intensity every single day is a documented way to burn out on a city that never really slows down around you.
Day 7: Rest, revisit, and get to the airport
Keep this morning deliberately empty. Revisit whatever you liked best this week, a last look at the Bellagio Fountains, one more pass through AREA15, or just a slow breakfast, rather than starting something new on your last day. Skip a classic buffet lunch on the way out; survivors like Bacchanal at Caesars run $65-95+ and a quick counter meal serves a departure day better.
Give yourself real buffer time getting to Harry Reid International , confirm your terminal (T1 for most domestic carriers, T3 for international and some domestic), and if a taxi driver suggests the I-215 tunnel route, ask for the direct surface road instead.
Before you go
Check your final hotel folio for the resort fee before checkout; it’s mandatory, separate from the room rate, and runs about $56-62 a night with tax at premium Strip resorts. Pack water for the whole week, not just the hottest days; dehydration sneaks up on you even walking between air-conditioned casinos. Keep your ID on you at all times if you’re drinking or gambling; nobody in this city takes your word for your age.
