The world’s richest horse race, roughly $35 million in prize money, run at the King Abdulaziz Racetrack in mid-February. The 7th edition ran 13 to 14 February 2026. If your dates can flex, this is the single biggest reason to land in Riyadh in winter.
King Abdulaziz Camel Festival
A pageant, racing, and heritage market running roughly December into early January near Rumah, about 120km northeast of the city. Genuinely distinct from anything you’d see in the city itself, and worth pairing with the traditional camel market east of Riyadh if your dates line up.
Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale

Founding Day and National Day
Founding Day, 22 February, marks the First Saudi State, founded in 1727, the same history behind At-Turaif in Diriyah. National Day, 23 September, marks the 1932 unification under Ibn Saud. Both come with parades and civic events worth checking locally as your dates approach.
Formula E Isn’t a Riyadh Event Anymore
