Singapore 7 Day Itinerary (No Traps)
Most week-long Singapore itineraries pad the back half with a repeat mall crawl or a second theme park lap. Don’t. Pulau Ubin, a bumboat ride off the northeast coast, is the last kampong-era island left in the country, no real development, just cycling trails and quiet. It’s the one day this itinerary has that most visitors never bother with. Need fewer days? The 5-day and 6-day versions build the same spine without stretching this far.
Book these before you go:
- Mandai Night Safari or River Wonders : pick one park, book online ahead
- Marina Bay Sands SkyPark : book a timed slot, skip the counter queue
- Universal Studios Singapore : SGD 83-86 adult, if Sentosa makes the cut
- Your Singapore hotel : a week is long enough to justify splitting your stay between two areas
| Day | Focus |

| 7 | Katong, Tiong Bahru, departure |
Day 1: Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay
MRT from Changi, about 35 minutes to City Hall via Tanah Merah, SGD 1.50-2.20 on a contactless card. Merlion Park for the photo, then Marina Bay Sands SkyPark in daylight, SGD 32 off-peak or 36 peak, book ahead.
Afternoon at Gardens by the Bay: Supertree Grove and the OCBC Skyway are free and outdoors, which is genuinely the shot most people want anyway. Cloud Forest and Flower Dome are ticketed, SGD 46 combined, add them if the budget allows. Evening: Spectra, free, on the waterfront, dinner at Satay by the Bay.
Day 2: Chinatown, Little India, Kampong Glam
Chinatown in the morning, Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and the shophouse streets. Lunch at Maxwell Food Centre, Tian Tian Hainanese chicken rice, Bib Gourmand-listed, SGD 4-8 a plate.
Afternoon in Little India, Tekka Centre and Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, better after dark if you loop back. Evening in Kampong Glam, Haji Lane, the Sultan Mosque, dinner at a small cafe.
Day 3: Sentosa
Boardwalk from VivoCity is free, everything else is paid: monorail SGD 4, Universal Studios SGD 83-86, the aquarium (rebranding as Singapore Oceanarium) from around SGD 45 online. Give it a full day. Good for kids, optional for adults without them.
Day 4: Botanic Gardens
Singapore Botanic Gardens, UNESCO-listed, free entry, National Orchid Garden inside charges SGD 15 for foreign adults, cheaper online, under-12s free. Beats another Orchard Road afternoon, which is a short MRT ride away if you still want it.
Day 5: Mandai Wildlife Reserve
Pick one park rather than trying to cover all five in a single Destination Pass visit. River Wonders is SGD 45 adult, 33 child. Night Safari, the world’s first nocturnal zoo, is the more distinctly Singaporean choice and works best as an evening-only visit rather than bolted onto a daytime park. The 6 Attractions Destination Pass, covering all five wildlife parks plus one indoor attraction on a single day, runs SGD 118 adult, worth it only if you’re genuinely spending the full day plus evening there.
Day 6: Pulau Ubin
Bumboat from Changi Point Ferry Terminal, about 10 minutes, SGD 4 each way, cash only, departs once 12 passengers are aboard between 6am and 7pm (fewer riders or off-hours cost more per head). Rent a bike on the island and spend the day on the trails, there’s genuinely little development here, which is the point.
Is Pulau Ubin worth a full day this late in the trip? Yes, precisely because it’s the contrast this itinerary needs. Bring cash, there’s no card payment on the island for most stalls, and head back before the last boats thin out in the evening.
Day 7: Katong, Tiong Bahru, and Departure
Morning in Katong and Joo Chiat for the Peranakan shophouses and colour, a first look rather than a deep dive, this neighbourhood rewards a longer visit another time. Afternoon in Tiong Bahru, the art-deco pre-war estate with indie bookshops and cafes, considered the city’s “hip” enclave by locals.
Farewell lunch at a hawker centre rather than a restaurant, it’s the better meal for less money either way. Head to Changi with at least three hours before an international flight, and if you’ve got time to spare, Jewel Changi is free to enter and worth the detour on the way out, not just the way in.
Getting Around and Before You Go
MRT covers nearly everything; tap a contactless bank card at the gantry, no card purchase needed, though foreign-issued cards carry a SGD 0.60/day admin fee. Grab is the ride-hail app, there’s no Uber, it left Southeast Asia in 2018. Check your passport against Singapore’s current visa-exemption list before booking, requirements vary by nationality and change over time. Tipping isn’t customary, many restaurants already add a 10% service charge plus 9% GST. Heat and humidity run 26-32C year-round, wetter November through January, so pack a light rain layer regardless of when you go and build air-conditioned breaks into every day.
