Aarhus 6 Day Itinerary (No Tourist Traps)

Day 1: ARoS and the Old Centre
Morning: ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum and Your Rainbow Panorama, included in admission.
Afternoon: Aarhus Cathedral, free, then the Latin Quarter.
Evening: Dinner in the Latin Quarter, paid in DKK.
Day 2: Den Gamle By and the Grauballe Man
Morning: Den Gamle By’s roughly 75 real relocated buildings.
Afternoon: Moesgaard Museum’s Grauballe Man bog body.
Evening: Aarhus Ø waterfront and the Isbjerget.
Day 3: Marselisborg and the Botanical Garden
Morning: Marselisborg’s park, deer park, and forest.
Afternoon: Marselisborg’s beach, then the free Botanical Garden.
Evening: A cheap, relaxed dinner before three travel days ahead.
Day 4: Silkeborg and Himmelbjerget
Morning: Regional train to Silkeborg, roughly 45 minutes, for the Tollund Man and Museum Jorn.
Afternoon: Himmelbjerget, a hill honestly billed as one, and the historic Hjejlen paddle steamer.
Evening: Back to Aarhus by train.
Day 5: Legoland Billund
Morning: Legoland Billund, the original park since 1968, next to the original LEGO factory.
Afternoon: A full day of rides and Miniland, more than 25 million bricks.
Evening: Back to Aarhus for a low-key dinner.
Day 6: Ebeltoft and Mols Bjerge National Park
Morning: Ebeltoft, roughly 45 minutes to an hour east on the Djursland peninsula, a genuinely well-preserved cobblestoned old town. See the Fregatten Jylland, billed as the longest wooden warship in the world, now a permanent museum ship.
Afternoon: Mols Bjerge National Park, Denmark’s second national park, inaugurated in 2009, hills up to about 137m plus heath and coastal habitat, the closest thing to real hiking terrain near Aarhus.
Evening: Back to Aarhus for a final relaxed dinner after a day of hills and coastline.
Which 6-day split actually works?
Three city days plus three separate day trips, Silkeborg, Legoland, and Ebeltoft/Mols Bjerge, is genuinely a week’s worth of Aarhus and its region without cramming two destinations into one rushed day. If six days feels like too much travel, our 4-day itinerary keeps the city core and Silkeborg only.
