Theth’s high mountain passes get most of the attention, but the valley floor has its own network of walks that need nothing more than sturdy shoes and a few free hours, no pass crossing, no guide, no permit. There’s no funicular, no viewing tower, and no hop-on-hop-off bus anywhere in Theth. Theth sits at the dead end of a mountain valley, and the only road out retraces the same 2.5-hour SH21 pass back to Shkodër you drove in on. There is no road trip to Krujë, Tirana, Lake Skadar, or the Riviera that starts from Theth without first leaving the valley for good.

Families do bring kids to Theth, and the valley genuinely rewards the ones old enough to walk it.
