Guided Visits in Quebec City
Quebec City has several places that can only be seen on a guided visit, and others where a tour is optional. Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are the published 2026 rates, so confirm them before you go.
La Citadelle de Québec
The Citadelle is an active military base, home of the Royal 22e Regiment, so entry is by guided tour only. The tour is outdoors, lasts 60 minutes and includes free, self-guided access to the regimental museum. General admission is 22 CAD for adults, 20 for seniors and students aged 18 and over, 8 for ages 11 to 17, free for ages 10 and under, and 50 for a family of up to two adults and three children under 18. Hours are 9:00 to 17:30 until 31 August 2026 and 10:00 to 17:30 from 1 September 2026 to 21 May 2027. Night tours in October cost 30 CAD for adults and 15 for youth.
The changing of the guard is included in admission, but it happens only Wednesday to Sunday at 10:00, from 24 June to 30 August in 2026, and rain cancels it. Schedules for next summer are not out yet.
Musée de la civilisation
The museum is at 85 rue Dalhousie in Lower Town, open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00, and daily from 24 June to 6 September. Individual rates are 6 for ages 6 to 11, 10 for ages 12 to 17, 22 for ages 18 to 34, 27 for ages 35 to 64, 26 for seniors, and 58 for a family. Children 5 and under are free. Current exhibitions include Le Québec, autrement dit and Trouver refuge.
Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec
At 179 Grande Allée Ouest, the museum is closed on Mondays and open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00. Admission with tax is 8 for ages 13 to 17, 18 for ages 18 to 30, 25 for ages 31 to 64, 24 for seniors and 54 for a family. Children 12 and under are free. The new Espace Riopelle opens on 22 October 2026, while the Morisset pavilion stays closed until spring 2027.
Morrin Centre
The Morrin Centre, at 44 chaussée des Écossais, occupies a former 1812 prison that later became a college and library. Visits are by guided tour of about one hour. Tour days vary through the week, so check the schedule before choosing a day. Tax-included rates are 18.50 for adults, 16.50 for seniors, students and ages 9 to 17, and 53 for a family, with ages 8 and under free.
Fortifications of Quebec
Walking the walls is free. Parks Canada’s guided tour lasts 90 minutes and meets at the kiosk by the Château Frontenac. The fee page lists 22.75 for adults, 21.25 for seniors and 12.75 for youth, and the 2026 season ran from 19 June to 25 October. Before booking, look at the current fee page.
Château Frontenac and river cruises
The Fairmont Le Château Frontenac offers a guided tour of about 50 minutes to an hour, in French or English, which leaves from the Au 1884 kiosk on Dufferin Terrace. Book it through the hotel, which publishes no adult price. A Croisières AML cruise from Quai Chouinard takes about 1 hour 30 minutes, with adult tickets from about 49.99 plus tax.
