Auckland Activities Beyond the Sky Tower
Auckland’s Harbour Bridge has a real bungy jump off the central arch, a 40-meter drop with the option to touch the water on the way down. Sydney’s bridge does not offer one, so don’t assume it’s the same climb-only deal on both sides of the Tasman.
Sky Tower edge activities
SkyWalk is the harnessed walk around the tower’s outer rim at NZD 215 adult, no jumping required. Auckland Harbour Bridge Bungy
The bungy itself, not the guided Climb, is the hands-on version: a 40-meter jump from a pod on the central arch, NZD 260, run by AJ Hackett Bungy rather than a generic operator. It’s the only commercial bungy in New Zealand or Australia with a water-touch option built in.
Sunset sea kayak to Rangitoto
Auckland Sea Kayaks is a DOC-concessioned operator paddling Waitematā Harbour to Rangitoto Island, up to 90 minutes of paddling each way, followed by the roughly 7km return summit hike and a barbecue on the shore before the paddle home. It’s a considerably more physical version of the ferry-and-walk day covered in the day trips guide , not a casual outing.
Piha surf lessons
Piha Surf Academy runs group and private lessons with Surfing NZ-qualified instructors on a beach with genuinely dangerous rips outside a lesson setting. Lifeguard patrols only run Labour Weekend through Easter; book a lesson rather than paddling out alone on an unpatrolled day, and if you ever get caught in a rip, float and raise a hand rather than swimming against it.
Getting between activities
None of these sit next to each other. The Sky Tower is downtown, the Harbour Bridge bungy is a short drive or bus ride north of the CBD, Rangitoto and Waiheke both leave from the downtown ferry terminal, and Piha is roughly 45 minutes west by car. Pick one or two a day rather than trying to string all five into a single itinerary.

Skip the Sky Tower’s observation deck if adrenaline is the point of your day; SkyJump and SkyWalk use the same building for something you actually do rather than watch.
Book SkyJump or the Bridge Bungy for the first clear-weather morning of your trip. Both close for high wind, and a backup day gets harder to find the longer you wait.
