Casablanca 6 Day Itinerary

Honest framing first: Casablanca itself, core sights plus both day trips, comfortably fills five days, our 5-day itinerary . A sixth day is better spent as an actual travel day onward than invented as more city sightseeing. Book these before you go
- Hassan II Mosque guided tour : the only way in for non-Muslims, roughly 140 MAD (~$14-15, verify); Friday tours run shorter and the mosque closes to visitors on Eid.
- Check hotel rates in Casablanca for nights 1-5, then check Marrakech hotel rates separately for night 6 onward.
- Casablanca to Marrakech via oncf-voyages.ma : a conventional train, 2h40-3h20, the high-speed extension is still under construction (targeted around 2029), so don’t expect an Al Boraq-speed trip.
Day 1: Hassan II Mosque and the Old Medina
Morning: ONCF train from the airport (about 35 minutes, ~50-60 MAD/$5-6, verify), then the Hassan II Mosque’s guided tour, roughly 140 MAD. Pre-check the schedule, Fridays run shorter and Eid closes the mosque to visitors.
Afternoon: The Old Medina, smaller and less polished than Marrakech’s or Fes’s, worth an hour rather than a full afternoon.
Evening: The Corniche and Aïn Diab at sunset, dinner at a seafood grill. Petit taxis are metered, insist on the “compteur,” or use Uber, back since November 2025.
Day 2: Art Deco downtown and the Habous Quarter
Morning: Mohammed V Square and Boulevard Mohammed V’s wider Art Deco heritage.
Afternoon: Marché Central for grilled seafood, then the Habous Quarter for souvenirs.
Evening: Dinner at Rick’s Café, opened 2004 as an homage to the 1942 film (shot entirely in Burbank, never in Morocco).
Day 3: Rabat day trip
Morning: Al Boraq high-speed train, about 57 minutes to Rabat. The Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V.
Afternoon: The Kasbah des Oudayas and Chellah’s walled necropolis ruins.
Evening: Return to Casablanca by train.
Day 4: El Jadida day trip
Morning: Train to El Jadida, about 1h25-1h30. The Cité Portugaise, a walled 16th-century Portuguese old town.
Afternoon: The underground Portuguese cistern, then the quieter beach outside the old town walls.
Evening: Return train to Casablanca in the late afternoon, don’t rely on the last train of the day as your buffer.
Day 5: Morocco Mall, Aquadream, and the Art Deco museums
Morning: Morocco Mall’s Aquadream, a walk-through aquarium in Aïn Diab.
Afternoon: Villa des Arts (free) and the Musée Abderrahman Slaoui (~60 MAD/$6-7, verify, closed some summers), plus Église Notre-Dame de Lourdes for its stained glass.
Evening: A last, slower Corniche walk and dinner near your hotel before packing up.
Day 6: Travel day, onward to Marrakech
This is deliberately a travel day, not a Casablanca sightseeing day. Check out and take the conventional train to Marrakech, 2h40-3h20 depending on the service, well worth booking a seat in advance since the route is popular. It’s a real train, not high-speed, the Marrakech extension of Al Boraq is still under construction, so settle in with something to read. Check into your Marrakech hotel and use the evening to get oriented at your own pace; Marrakech is its own destination and deserves the rest of your trip on its own terms rather than a rushed half-day.
Is 6 days enough for Casablanca?
Six days is more than Casablanca’s own sights need, five days already covers the city core plus both day trips properly.
