Temple of Garni The Temple of Garni is the only surviving Greco-Roman colonnaded building in Armenia and the former Soviet Union. Built of basalt with 24 columns, it is conventionally dated to around 77 CE under King Tiridates I and traditionally linked to the god Mihr.

Evening at the Temple Garni suits couples who like old stones and open sky more than resort comforts. The museum-reserve is open daily until about 21:30, so you can reach the Temple of Garni late in the day and stay while the basalt colonnade catches the evening light.
