Located approximately 120 km west of Tashkent, the Chimgan Mountains are the highest point in Western Tian Shan and offer a fantastic hiking experience for all levels. The area boasts beautiful valleys, alpine meadows, and crystal-clear lakes. With peaks reaching up to 3,309 meters, the views from the top are simply breathtaking.
Recommended Trail: The Big Chimgan Peak (Большой Чимаган) is a popular trail suitable for intermediate hikers. The trek takes around 5-6 hours to complete and rewards you with stunning vistas of the surrounding mountains.
- Charvak Reservoir (Чарвакское водохранилище) 🌊
Situated only 30 km northeast of Tashkent, Charvak is a picturesque reservoir surrounded by beautiful hills and forests. It’s the perfect spot for a day hike or a leisurely stroll. The area offers several trails ranging from easy to moderate difficulty.
Recommended Trail: Take the trail leading to Kok-Tash (Кок-Таш), a small village on the eastern side of Charvak. The hike takes approximately 2 hours and offers scenic views of the reservoir and the surrounding mountains.
