Tallinn Attraction Tours: Tickets and Timing
Attraction Tours in Tallinn
Several of Tallinn’s best-known attractions are ships, gun towers and a Soviet-era television mast, not churches. Most sell timed or tiered tickets, so a little planning saves both money and queueing.
Seaplane Harbour and Fat Margaret
Seaplane Harbour (Lennusadam) occupies 1916 concrete hangars beside the sea. Admission is €22 for adults and €11 for children and students, with a family ticket at €40 and free entry under 8. Add Fat Margaret, the cannon tower at Pikk 70, and the combined ticket is €30 or €15, valid for a week. Official prices are on meremuuseum.ee .
Kiek in de Kök and the bastion passages
This 15th-century artillery tower still has cannonballs lodged in its walls. Tickets are sold by section: the museum, the towers and the bastion passages can each be bought separately. The passages can be walked independently with an audio guide or on a booked guided tour. Opening hours run 11 to 18 daily from May to September and Tuesday to Sunday from October to April.
Art museums
KUMU charges €16 for adults and €11 for concessions, and is closed on Mondays. The Kadriorg Art Museum in the baroque palace is €15 or €10, and the Niguliste Museum, home of Bernt Notke’s Danse Macabre painting, is also €15 or €10. The Estonian Art Museum ticket page lists the current rates and the discount day on the last Wednesday of each month.
TV Tower
The deck at 170 metres costs €18 online and €19 at the door, open daily 10 to 18. The Edge Walk, a harnessed stroll outside the platform, is €41.
Soviet-era sites
The KGB Museum on the 23rd floor of Hotel Viru runs guided tours only, at €20 for adults and half price for ages 5 to 11. Reserve in advance through viru.ee . The KGB Prison Cells at Pagari 1, run by Vabamu, cost €10 or €8, open daily 10 to 18 from May to September and Wednesday to Sunday 11 to 18 from October to April.
Do the Tallinn Card sums
The Tallinn Card is €45 for 24 hours, €65 for 48 and €78 for 72, and includes transport. Seaplane Harbour, the TV Tower and St Olaf’s tower accept it, so those three on a single day (€22, €18 and €10) already beat the €45 price. For guided options, search Tallinn attraction tours on Viator .
Verdict
Seaplane Harbour with Fat Margaret is the strongest ticket in the city. For a longer plan, see the 2-day Tallinn itinerary .
Tip: buy the Kiek in de Kök section that matches your interest at the desk instead of the full ticket by default.
