π Stanley Park: One of the city’s most iconic locations, Stanley Park offers a variety of water activities. Rent a kayak or a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) at nearby rental shops and explore the calm waters of Coal Harbour or the Pacific Ocean. Don’t miss the beautiful views of the North Shore Mountains!
π English Bay: Located on the west coast of downtown Vancouver, English Bay is a popular spot for swimming during the summer months. You can also rent kayaks, paddleboards, and boats here. Keep an eye out for the famous sunset memorial fireworks held every Sunday evening during the summer!
π Kitsilano Beach: Known locally as “Kits,” this beach offers a large swimming area, volleyball courts, and rentals for kayaks, SUPs, and boats. It’s also home to the iconic Kitsilano Pool, an outdoor saltwater pool with stunning views of the mountains and the ocean.
π Second Beach: Located within Stanley Park, Second Beach is a great spot for swimming and offers rentals for kayaks and SUPs. It’s also home to the iconic Stanley Park Pool, an outdoor freshwater pool.
π False Creek: This inlet separates Vancouver from the city of Richmond. You can rent kayaks, pedal boats, or even electric boats at several locations around False Creek. Popular spots include Granville Island and Science World.
π Jericho Beach: Located in the Point Grey neighborhood, Jericho Beach offers a large swimming area and rentals for sailboats, windsurfers, and kayaks. It’s also a popular spot for picnics!
Please note: Some of these locations may be too far from the city center to access by water. For example, Jericho Beach is located on the western side of Vancouver, making it difficult to reach by water without a boat.
