A toddler and a teenager rarely want the same afternoon in Potsdam, and sorting the city’s family options by age rather than by neighborhood saves an argument before it even starts.
For toddlers and younger kids
Solar and pedal boats at Lange Brücke are the easiest win here, nobody needs a license or prior experience, and a small child who won’t sit through a museum will usually sit still on a boat for twenty minutes. For older kids and teens
Filmpark Babelsberg is the one that plays best with an audience old enough to appreciate the stunt work: live motorcycle jumps and fire stunts in the Volcano Arena, an interactive 4D action cinema, and a working film lot behind it all that’s been running since 1912. Book Filmpark Babelsberg tickets ahead during school holiday weeks, when same-day gate lines run long. It’s seasonal, so check the official visiting calendar before building a day around it.
The ticketing detail that trips up parents
If Sanssouci and the New Palace are both on the list, the sanssouci+ pass costs 22 EUR adult and 17 EUR reduced, with a 49 EUR family rate covering two adults and up to four children age 18 and under, not the price for a single adult, a distinction a lot of older trip reports get backward. Photographing the interiors needs a separate 3 EUR-per-day permit.
