Jordan Petra Desert Reserve (Wadi Rum)

• Location: Southern Jordan, about 70 km north of Aqaba
• Animal Life: Sand foxes, Hyrax, Arabian oryx, Fennec foxes, various bird species like the Griffon vulture and the Steller’s eagle.
• Activities: Camel rides, Jeep tours, Hot air balloon rides (for stunning views), Stargazing at night (clear skies make for amazing astronomical events).

Aqaba Marine Park

• Location: Aqaba’s coastline
• Animal Life: Over 20 different types of coral, more than 250 fish species including clownfish, parrotfish, and sea turtles.
• Activities: Snorkeling, Scuba diving, Glass-bottom boat tours, Swimming with dolphins (with licensed operators).

Dana Biosphere Reserve

• Location: Southwest Jordan, 3 hours drive from Petra

Azraq Wetland Reserve

• Location: Central Jordan, about 100 km east of Amman
• Animal Life: Greater Flamingos, White-cheeked Black Tit, Arabian Sandgrouse, and the endangered Lesser Kestrel.

• Location: Near Shobak town, about 2 hours drive from Petra
• Animal Life: Injured or abandoned birds of prey like eagles and falcons, as well as other wildlife.
