Ahu Tongariki: This is the largest ahu (platform) on Easter Island and it boasts 15 moai standing again since the early 1960s after being toppled by ancient Polynesians. The site offers a stunning view of the sunrise, making it a must-visit location.

Ahu Akahanga: Located in Hanga Roa, this ahu is an excellent place to learn about the restoration process of the moai. It houses three standing moai and several fallen ones.

Ahu Nau Nau: Known for its unique position on the cliff’s edge, Ahu Nau Nau offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. Four moai are placed here, with one still in its original volcanic rock platform.
Hike the Rano Raraku Quarry
Visit the volcanic crater and quarry where most of the moai were carved. The trail leads you through a fascinating landscape filled with half-finished moai and scattered about are some completed statues.
Relax at Anakena Beach
This beautiful white sand beach, sheltered by palm trees, is one of the few places on Easter Island where you can swim in the ocean. It’s also home to two restored ahu with standing moai.
