Yemen 6-Day Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Sana’a (Arrival & Exploration)
- Arrive at Sana’a International Airport. Please note that obtaining a Yemeni visa might take some time, so it is advisable to apply in advance.
- Check into your hotel and freshen up.
- Visit the Old City of Sana’a with its unique architecture, ancient mosques like Al-Khamees Mosque and the Grand Mosque, and bustling souks selling traditional Yemeni handicrafts.
- Dinner at a local restaurant offering authentic Yemeni cuisine.
Day 2: Sana’a & Surroundings (Half Day City Tour & Amran)
- Morning visit to the National Museum of Yemen to learn about the country’s rich history and culture.
- Afternoon trip to Amran, an ancient city located approximately 40 kilometers northwest of Sana’a. Explore the remains of the historic castle and enjoy stunning views of the valley.
- Return to Sana’a for a traditional Yemeni dinner.
Day 3: Shibam (Mudbrick City)
- Early morning departure towards Shibam, often referred to as “the Manhattan of the Desert.”
- Explore the ancient mud-brick skyscrapers and fortifications, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Overnight stay in Shibam or a nearby town.
Day 4: Ras Al-Ma’ara Beach & Wadi Doan
- Morning drive to Ras Al-Ma’ara Beach for relaxation, swimming, and snorkeling.
- Afternoon visit to the stunning Wadi Doan, a beautiful valley filled with palm trees and crystal-clear pools of water.
- Overnight stay in a local guesthouse near the beach or Wadi Doan.
Day 5: Ta’izz (Ancient City & Souk)
- Morning departure towards Ta’izz, one of Yemen’s largest cities.
- Visit the ancient city of Al-Mukhaarrmik and explore its historic castle, mosques, and souks selling traditional goods.
- In the evening, stroll through the bustling Al-Sabeen street market, known for its silver jewelry, antiques, and handicrafts.
- Overnight stay in Ta’izz.
Day 6: Return to Sana’a & Departure
- Morning drive back to Sana’a, with stops along the way to enjoy beautiful landscapes and rural Yemeni life.
- Spend your last hours exploring any areas of Sana’a that you might have missed on the first day or souvenir shopping at the bustling markets.
- Departure from Sana’a International Airport.
