Yemen 4-Day Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Sana’a
Activities: Explore Sana’a’s Old City, visit the Great Mosque of Sana’a, stroll through Bab Al-Yemen market, and discover the beautiful architecture of the city.
Things to Know: Sana’a is the capital and largest city of Yemen. It’s known for its ancient heritage sites and unique Sanaani architecture. The Old City of Sana’a is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Visa Requirements: Tourist visas are not issued on arrival at Sana’a International Airport. You will need to obtain a visa from a Yemeni embassy before your trip. Check the latest requirements as they can change frequently.
Transportation: Taxis and local buses are available for transportation within the city. Be aware that driving conditions may be challenging due to road conditions and traffic.
Day 2: Dhamar & Amran
Activities: Visit the historic town of Dhamar, explore its traditional houses, and learn about its rich history. Head to Amran to see the famous Marib Dam and ancient ruins.
Things to Know: Dhamar is located in central Yemen and is known for its beautiful landscapes and friendly people. Amran is home to the ancient city of Marib, which was once the capital of the Sabaean Kingdom.

Day 3: Shibam & Wadi Do’an
Activities: Visit the “Manhattan of the Desert,” Shibam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore Wadi Do’an, a beautiful valley with stunning rock formations and clear pools of water.
Things to Know: Shibam is a historic city built entirely from mud bricks. It’s known for its tower houses. Wadi Do’an offers opportunities for hiking and swimming in its crystal-clear pools.
Transportation: You can hire a car with a driver or join a tour group to travel to Shibam and Wadi Do’an. The roads can be rough, so it’s important to have a experienced driver.
Day 4: Mukalla & Ras Al-Jinz
Activities: Explore the coastal city of Mukalla, visit the Soqotra Museum, and relax on the beautiful beaches. Visit Ras Al-Jinz, a turtle reserve where you can witness green sea turtles laying their eggs.
Things to Know: Mukalla is the largest city in eastern Yemen and is known for its beautiful beaches and historic architecture. Ras Al-Jinz is one of the most important green sea turtle breeding sites in the world.
Transportation: You can hire a car with a driver or join a tour group to travel between Mukalla and Ras Al-Jinz. The roads are generally good, but be aware that driving conditions may still be challenging.
