Western Sahara 2-Day Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Dakhla (Bojador, Maspalomas, Oyun)
Morning:
- Arrival at Dakhla (Flights from major cities in Morocco are available)
- Check-in at hotel and freshen up
- Breakfast at the hotel or local café (Fresh seafood is a must-try!)
Afternoon:

Bojador: Approx. 35 min drive
- Visit the 15th century Portuguese Fortress and the famous “Door of the Desert”
- Walk along the beautiful Atlantic coastline and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes

Maspalomas (Iriki): Approx. 40 min drive
- Explore the dunes and sandy beaches of Maspalomas, a natural wonder in Western Sahara
- Camel rides are available for a unique desert experience
Evening:
- Return to Dakhla
- Visit the local fish market and enjoy a fresh dinner at one of the seafood restaurants by the port
Things to Know:
- Currency: Western Sahara uses the Moroccan Dirham (MAD)
- Language: Arabic is the official language, but Spanish and French are also widely spoken
- Safety: While generally safe, it’s recommended to avoid traveling alone in remote areas
- Visa: A visa is not required for most nationalities if entering from Morocco (Check specific requirements before travel)
Day 2: Oyun, Ras El Ma and Departure
Morning:
- Breakfast at the hotel and check-out
- Drive to Oyun (Approx. 1 hour 30 min)
- Visit the oyster farms and enjoy freshly harvested oysters for lunch
Afternoon:

Ras El Ma: Approx. 1 hour drive
- Explore the picturesque dunes and beaches of Ras El Ma
- Take a dip in the warm Atlantic waters or relax on the sandy shores

Return to Dakhla and visit the local craft market for souvenirs before departure
Departure:
- Flight back from Dakhla to your next destination (Flights are available throughout the week)
Transportation:
- Renting a car is the most convenient way to explore Western Sahara. Make sure to have an international driver’s license and check for insurance coverage. Taxis and guided tours are also available.
